2-Year Care & Repair Warranty

Our support does not end when the jewellery is purchased. For two years, we provide practical repair support for jewellery that develops a fixable issue through normal and reasonable use.

This may include workmanship concerns, loose connections, minor accidental breakage, and certain practical adjustments that allow the jewellery to continue being worn comfortably. Every request is reviewed individually because the condition, construction, and repairability of each design can be different.

If an issue can be repaired safely and reasonably, and the condition of the jewellery is consistent with normal use, we will make a sincere effort to restore it. Coverage remains subject to inspection, repair feasibility, and the availability of suitable components.

This warranty is separate from our 14-day online return policy.

48-Hour Arrival Protection

Contact us within 48 hours if an item arrives damaged, defective, incomplete, or incorrect.

90-Day Finish Review

Significant and unusually rapid finish deterioration can be reviewed when the care guidance has been followed.

2-Year Care & Repair

Repairable issues arising through normal and reasonable use are assessed for practical repair support.

What the 2-year warranty covers

If an issue is reasonably repairable and has developed through normal use, we will assess the jewellery and, when safe and practical, repair it during the two-year coverage period.

An issue does not have to be proven to have existed at the time of purchase before you can contact us. Depending on the design, condition, and repairability of the piece, coverage may include:

  • Securing an original stone that has become loose
  • Reattaching an original stone that has become detached and has been retained
  • Repairing or reattaching an earring post, hook, clip, or hanging component
  • Repairing a clasp, link, jump ring, connector, or solder joint
  • Repairing a chain that has separated or broken
  • Repairing or replacing a broken dori
  • Reattaching a decorative component that has become loose or separated
  • Repairing minor accidental breakage that occurs during ordinary and reasonable wear
  • Lengthening or shortening a chain when the construction of the jewellery allows it
  • Replacing a dori with a suitable chain or another practical closure when appropriate for the design
  • Other minor repairs or adjustments that can be completed safely and reasonably

Approved warranty repairs and practical adjustments are completed without a repair labour charge. Any ordinary repair components required for the approved work are included when they are available and suitable for the jewellery.

Please keep any detached stone, post, chain, clasp, bead, hook, or decorative component. Retaining the original component often makes a proper repair more practical and helps preserve the original design.

How repairs and adjustments are handled

Most approved work is intended to restore the jewellery so it can continue to be worn securely and comfortably. This may involve repairing the original construction or making a limited functional adjustment that is suitable for the design.

Approved work may include shortening or lengthening a chain, replacing a damaged dori, or changing a dori to a suitable chain or closure. These adjustments are completed only when they make sense for the jewellery and can be made without weakening or unnecessarily changing the piece.

Repairs and adjustments remain subject to inspection, technical feasibility, and the availability of suitable components. Some handcrafted, specialised, or discontinued parts may not be replaceable.

Repairs are not a general customization service

Practical chain and closure adjustments may be covered when they improve the fit or continued wearability of the jewellery. However, the warranty is not intended to redesign the item or change its appearance for styling purposes.

The warranty does not include:

  • Changing the colour or plated finish of the jewellery
  • Changing one stone colour to another
  • Adding stones or decorative components that were not part of the purchased design
  • Removing or rearranging stones for styling purposes
  • Combining components from different jewellery designs
  • Rebuilding the jewellery into a substantially different style
  • Other cosmetic changes requested only to create a different appearance

An approved chain-length or closure adjustment is treated as a practical fit or wearability service, not as a general redesign of the jewellery.

Missing stones and components

If an original stone or component becomes detached, please keep it so it can be assessed for reattachment.

If the original stone or component has been lost, you may still contact us for an assessment. However, replacement is not guaranteed. We will not change the stone colour, shape, size, arrangement, or overall design simply to complete a repair.

A missing component will only be replaced when a suitable match is available and the repair can be completed without improperly altering the original design.

90-day finish review

Our jewellery uses alloy bases with plated finishes. Careful wear and dry storage help preserve the finish for longer. Moisture, sweat, perfume, lotions, hairspray, cosmetics, household chemicals, and repeated friction can accelerate changes to plated surfaces.

If the finish shows significant and unusually rapid deterioration within 90 days, despite following the care guidance, contact us with clear photos and details about how the jewellery was worn and stored.

We will assess whether the change appears consistent with normal wear and exposure or suggests an unusual finish issue. If a finish concern is approved, the available resolution may be the same-product replacement or store credit for the affected item.

Replating, recolouring, or changing the finish is not provided through the warranty.

48-hour arrival protection

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery if an online order arrives:

  • Damaged or broken
  • With a visible manufacturing defect
  • Missing a component listed as part of the product
  • Different from the product or colour variant ordered

Include your order number and clear photos of the jewellery and packaging. For an approved arrival issue, we will cover return shipping or accept a free in-store drop-off.

After inspection, the resolution may be a repair, same-product replacement, or refund, depending on the issue and product availability.

What the warranty does not cover

Minor accidental breakage during normal and reasonable wear is not automatically excluded. However, the warranty cannot cover every form of damage, deterioration, loss, or misuse.

The following are generally not covered:

  • Loss of the entire item
  • Loss of a single earring, removable chain, backing, detachable accessory, or other separate component
  • Missing stones or components when the original part has not been retained and no suitable match is available
  • Severe crushing, cutting, melting, deliberate bending, or extensive structural damage
  • Damage caused by repeated misuse or continued wear after a loose, cracked, or damaged area becomes noticeable
  • Damage caused by unauthorized repair, soldering, gluing, alteration, or modification
  • Gradual plating fade, fine scratches, dullness, tarnish, oxidation, or surface wear associated with normal use
  • Finish deterioration caused by water, moisture, sweat, perfume, lotions, hairspray, cosmetics, cleaning products, pool water, or other chemicals
  • Damage caused by wearing jewellery while showering, swimming, sleeping, exercising, or doing physical work
  • Fit, colour preference, change of mind, or styling preferences unrelated to a repairable issue
  • Work that would be unsafe, technically unsuitable, or likely to damage or weaken the jewellery further
An accidental break is not automatically excluded. If a chain, dori, post, hook, clasp, connector, or another part breaks during ordinary use, please contact us. We will assess what happened, the condition of the jewellery, and whether a safe and reasonable repair is possible.

When an issue does not fit neatly into this policy

Jewellery issues do not always fit perfectly into a written list. These terms establish reasonable boundaries so requests can be handled consistently and unnecessary misunderstandings can be avoided. They are not intended to discourage someone from contacting us when a genuine problem arises.

If your situation is not specifically mentioned, or appears to fall outside the stated coverage, please still reach out. We will review the jewellery fairly and look for a practical solution whenever one is reasonably available.

Depending on the issue, that solution may involve a covered repair, a practical adjustment, a paid repair with your approval, same-product replacement when appropriate, store credit, or clear guidance about what can and cannot safely be done.

We cannot promise that every damaged, incomplete, or heavily worn item can be restored. However, we will make a sincere effort to understand the issue and help where the design, condition, repair method, and available components allow.

Support for issues outside the warranty

An issue that is not covered does not always mean that nothing can be done. We can still assess whether the jewellery can be repaired or adjusted safely.

This may help with certain accidental damage, issues reported after the two-year period, or repairs where the cause is not consistent with warranty coverage.

Any parts, labour, or shipping cost for non-covered work will be explained before the repair begins. No paid repair will be completed without your approval.

How warranty requests are resolved

After reviewing the information and physically inspecting the jewellery when necessary, we will determine the most appropriate available solution.

  1. Repair the jewellery when the issue can be corrected safely and reasonably.
  2. Complete an approved practical adjustment when a chain length or closure change is suitable for the design.
  3. Replace the item with the same product when repair is not practical and the same product remains available.
  4. Provide store credit for the affected item when repair is not reasonably possible and the same product is unavailable.

The available resolution depends on the issue, the condition of the jewellery, repair feasibility, suitable component availability, and the circumstances of the request.

Refunds outside the online return period are not the standard warranty resolution, except for approved arrival issues or where required by applicable law.

Repair guarantee

The specific area repaired by us remains covered for 90 days from the completed repair date or for the remainder of the original two-year warranty period, whichever is longer.

If the same repaired connection, post, clasp, chain, dori attachment, or other repaired area fails again during that period, contact us for reassessment.

The repair guarantee applies to the repaired area only. It does not cover new accidental damage, improper exposure, misuse, loss, or an unrelated part of the jewellery.

How to request warranty or repair support

  1. Email support@indianjewellery.com with:
    • Your order number, receipt, or other proof of purchase
    • Clear photos and, when helpful, a short video of the issue
    • A brief explanation of what happened and when you first noticed the issue
    • A photo of any detached original stones or components you retained
  2. We normally respond to the initial request within 2 business days.
  3. We will let you know whether the issue can be assessed from the supplied information or whether physical inspection is required.
  4. Do not mail or deliver the jewellery until you receive return or showroom drop-off instructions.

A final warranty decision may require physical inspection. When the jewellery must be sent to us, an estimated repair, adjustment, or replacement timeframe will be provided after it is received and assessed.

Shipping and showroom service

  • Within 30 days of delivery: We cover return shipping for an approved warranty or arrival issue, or you may use a free showroom drop-off.
  • After 30 days: The purchaser is responsible for shipping the jewellery to us. For an approved warranty repair, adjustment, or replacement, we cover standard outbound shipping back to the purchaser.
  • Showroom service: Drop-off and collection are free during regular opening hours.
  • Non-covered issues: If inspection determines that an issue falls outside the warranty, the purchaser is responsible for return shipping unless a separate repair arrangement is approved.

Jewellery sent by mail should be packed securely. We are not responsible for an item before it is delivered to us, so tracked shipping is recommended.

Warranty eligibility

  • The two-year period begins on the delivery date for online purchases and the purchase date for showroom purchases.
  • Coverage applies to jewellery purchased directly from IndianJewellery.com online or at our Surrey showroom.
  • Proof of purchase is required.
  • Tags and original packaging are not required for a warranty or repair request.
  • A gift recipient may request support using the original order number, receipt, or gift receipt.
  • Coverage does not apply to second-hand or resale purchases.
  • A repaired, adjusted, or replaced item continues under the original warranty period. It does not begin a new two-year coverage period.
Final sale and warranty support are different. A showroom purchase may be final sale while still qualifying for approved warranty repair support. Final-sale status does not remove coverage for a genuine covered issue.

Jewellery care

  • Put jewellery on after perfume, hairspray, lotions, and cosmetics have dried.
  • Keep it away from water, sweat, moisture, cleaning products, and household chemicals.
  • Remove it before showering, swimming, sleeping, exercising, or doing physical work.
  • Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
  • Store each piece separately in a dry pouch or box.
  • Avoid bending posts, chains, clasps, and adjustable areas beyond their intended movement.
  • Stop wearing the jewellery and contact us if a stone, post, chain, or connection becomes visibly loose.

Important legal note

This limited warranty is provided in addition to any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer-protection and sale-of-goods laws. Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Warranty FAQs

What does the 2-year warranty cover?

It provides practical repair support for fixable issues that develop through normal and reasonable use. Depending on inspection and repairability, this may include stones, earring posts, hooks, clasps, links, connectors, chains, doris, solder joints, decorative components, and certain practical fit or closure adjustments.

Is minor accidental breakage covered?

Minor accidental breakage during ordinary and reasonable use may be covered when the jewellery can be safely repaired. Severe damage, loss, deliberate alteration, repeated misuse, or damage that cannot reasonably be restored may not be covered.

What happens if a chain, dori, earring post, clasp, or connector breaks?

Contact us with photos and a description of what happened. If the issue is repairable and the condition is consistent with normal use, we will assess it for repair under the two-year warranty.

Can you shorten or lengthen a chain?

Yes, when the design and construction allow the adjustment to be completed safely. The jewellery must first be assessed to confirm that the requested length can be achieved without weakening or unnecessarily changing the piece.

Can a dori be changed to a chain or another closure?

Yes, when a suitable chain or closure is available and the change is appropriate for the design. This is treated as a practical wearability adjustment rather than a general customization service.

Will you replace a missing stone?

Keep any stone that becomes detached so it can be assessed for reattachment. If the original stone is missing, you may still contact us, but replacement is not guaranteed. A replacement will only be considered when a suitable match is available and the repair will not improperly alter the original design.

Can you change the stone colour, finish, or design during a repair?

No. The warranty is not a general redesign service. We do not change stone colours, recolour or replate jewellery, add decorative components, rearrange stones, or rebuild the item into a different style.

Is tarnish or plating fade covered?

Gradual finish change, fine scratches, plating fade, tarnish, and oxidation associated with normal wear or outside exposure are not covered by the two-year repair warranty. Significant and unusually rapid finish deterioration reported within 90 days may be submitted for review when the care guidance has been followed.

Do I need the tags or original packaging?

No. A warranty request is not a return, so tags and original packaging are not required. Proof of purchase is required, and any detached original stones or components should be retained when possible.

What happens if the jewellery cannot be repaired?

If repair or an appropriate practical adjustment is not reasonably possible, we may replace the item with the same product when it remains available. If the same product is unavailable, store credit may be provided for the affected item.

What if my issue is not specifically listed?

Please contact us anyway. Jewellery issues do not always fit neatly into a written list. We will review the situation fairly and look for a practical solution whenever the condition, construction, repair method, and available components allow.

Who pays shipping for an approved claim?

Within 30 days of delivery, we cover return shipping for an approved issue. After 30 days, the purchaser covers shipping to us and we cover standard outbound shipping after an approved repair, adjustment, or replacement. Showroom drop-off and collection are free.

How do I start a warranty or repair request?

Email support@indianjewellery.com with proof of purchase, clear photos or video, and a brief explanation of the issue. Do not send the jewellery until instructions are provided.
